Funny how, funny like I'm a clown? I amuse you?
If you're one of those mixed martial arts (MMA) fans who embarked on that "ridiculous" campaign to get Dan Henderson a middleweight title shot, despite the fact that "Hendo" is not ranked in the division top 10, then current contender Ronaldo Souza would like to have a word with you.
"This Dan Henderson campaign is ridiculous. It's actually funny, because I am next and there are others ahead of him. Chris Weidman also makes no sense, because he was scheduled to fight at UFC 199 and pulled out. It makes no sense to put him ahead of me, not to mention he's injured and can't train. Long story short. I fought and I won. He didn't."
Weidman and Luke Rockhold sit above the Brazilian in the official UFC rankings (see them here).
Souza (23-4, 1 NC) was tapped for a middleweight title shot at UFC 199 when "All American" injured his neck; however, his own health problems forced him to decline. That allowed Michael Bisping to step in and upset the 185-pound apple cart, leading to calls for a Henderson do-over later this year.
Probably because the first go-round was so much fun (for everyone except the "The Count").
