Alistair Overeem will continue Jackson-Wink training after taking out UFC teammate Andrei Arlovski

Fresh of his second-round technical knockout victory over Andrei Arlovski at yesterday's (Sun., May 8, 2016) UFC Fight Night 87 event in Rotterdam, Netherlands (video highlights here), Alistair Overeem is looking forward to bigger and better things.

More specifically a shot at the heavyweight title, which is currently in the grasp of Fabricio Werdum, a man he's defeated before.

Should he get the next title fight -- after Stipe Miocic, of course -- he will do it with the help of all his crew at Jackson-Wink MMA, the team that got him there by helping him win his last four bouts.

As "The Reem" confirmed on The MMA Hour, the fact that he beat down his teammate won't have any bearing on his relationship with the camp, as he fully expects to head back down to New Mexico in a few weeks to move forward in his hunt for the title.

"I have a good relationship with the coaches over there. It never went bad, it never went sour. We have always had positive and very good communications and we were very open about the whole situation toward each other. I will have a couple of weeks here in Holland before I head back. But I will definitely be going back to Jackson's. I had a great run, four wins in a row fighting out of there. The coaches are great and we all get along. As well as the fighters, the gym is stacked with all kinds of fighters; girls, guys, all kinds of weight classes. There is great energy there and I cannot wait to get back in it."

They've always been a tight bunch, though Overeem and Andrei weren't exactly BFFs. But who knows, they're relationship may grow now that they've let out some steam after punching each other in the face.

As far as the coaching staff, though head trainer Greg Jackson broke protocol to train Arlovski against his teammate, it seems no bridges have been burned from either side.

And it's a good thing, too, as it's safe to say the combination of Overeem and Jackson-Wink MMA has proven to be a winning one.
