R.I.P. Jordan Parsons 1990-2016.
The young and promising Bellator MMA fighter was scheduled to compete at Bellator 154 "Davis vs. King Mo" in San Jose, Calif., but was struck by a hit-and-run driver on April 30 in Delray Beach, Fla., and ultimately succumbed to his injuries on May 4.
Friends, fans, and fellow fighters had been contributing to a fund for his medical expenses that sadly was changed to one for his funerary expenses after his untimely passing. Now TMZSports.com is reporting that Bellator has offered to support the family by defraying those costs.
With Bellator kicking in to help out his family, Parsons' manager Bryan York told TMZ that any money left over from earlier fundraising will be donated to a charitable cause in Jordan's name.
Meanwhile, the Delray Beach Police Department is still actively searching for the driver who fled the scene in a silver 2012-2013 Range Rover Sport after the accident.

If found, the vehicle should have significant and visible damage. Parsons was struck so violently that the driver's side mirror was snapped off in the crash.
