This Saturday (May 7, 2016) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, a 154-pound fighter, WBC Middleweight Champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, and a 147-pound fighter, Amir Khan, will fight at 155 pounds for a 160-pound title.
Got it? Good.
Canelo faces a decidedly unexpected challenger in the form of Khan, a former Junior Welterweight titleholder who currently campaigns at Welterweight. The two headline a four-fight HBO Boxing pay-per-view (PPV) card card loaded with the potential for highlight-reel knockouts.
MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE coverage of "Canelo vs. Khan," starting with the HBO PPV broadcast this Saturday evening at 9 p.m. ET.
HBO's "24/7" series continues (watch episode one here) with more looks at the stars' preparations, featuring plenty of gym footage set to culturally-appropriate music. Also, Canelo's adorable new puppy whom I desperately want to hug.
The rest of the "Canelo vs. Khan"-led PPV card features veteran spoiler Mauricio Herrera's attempt to shut down the rising Frankie Gomez, David Lemieux's return against the gritty Glen Tapia, and a sure-fire slobberknocker between punchers Curtis Stevens and Patrick Teixeira.
Can't wait!
