Newly-crowned Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight titleholder Stipe Miocic will make his first-ever title defense against top 265-pound contender Alistair Overeem at the upcoming UFC 203 pay-per-view (PPV) event inside Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, on Sept. 10, 2016.
And he'll do it as the -170 favorite.
That's according to our fiscal friends over at Odds Shark, who peg "Demolition Man" as the +140 underdog. No doubt a line this close will ebb and flow over the next few months as mixed martial arts (MMA) fans start laying down coin on this titanic tilt.
Miocic (15-2) captured the crown with a knockout win over Fabricio Werdum at UFC 198 earlier this month in Brazil, his third straight win since a razor-thin loss to Junior dos Santos in 2014. Overeem (41-14, 1 NC), meanwhile, has now captured four in a row, including his technical knockout win over Andrei Arlovski in Rotterdam.
So, how will the opening line affect your fight night wager ... if at all?
