UFC vet Cathal Pendred lands acting role on hit Showtime television series 'Ray Donovan'

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Another mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter is turning his attention to the bright lights of Hollywood.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight standout, Cathal Pendred, recently landed a role in the hit television series "Ray Donovan," which airs on Showtime.

This, according to a Twitter post from the former fighter.

Pendred has plenty of free time on his hands to pursue other ventures after retiring from mixed martial arts (MMA) earlier this year following back-to-back losses.

Cathal joins an ever-growing list of current and former MMA fighters who have tried their hand at acting including Ronda Rousey, Gina Carano, Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, Keith Jardine, Georges St-Pierre, and many, many more.

More recently, UFC starlet and strawweight contender Paige VanZant landed a starring role in the upcoming Jean-Claude Van Damme film "Kickboxer: Retaliation."
