Conor McGregor's next move: Get naked for ESPN's 'Body Issue' 2016

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Conor McGregor is the hottest fighter on the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) roster right now, generating $400 million for the world's leading mixed martial arts (MMA) league inside the Octagon for his "last three events" alone. Now, "Notorious" gets to strut his stuff outside the cage, letting it all hang out for ESPN The Magazine's 2016 "Body Issue."

With the announcement, which comes on the heels of his candid "Sunday Conversation" with Kenny Mayne this past weekend, McGregor joins Ronda Rousey (see pics), Miesha Tate (see pics) and Jon Jones (see pics) as UFC stars who have graced the pages of the annual edition. The full roster of athletes for the 2016 edition who will join McGregor will be released on June 20, 2016. ESPN The Magazine's 2016 "Body Issue" will hit newsstands about three weeks later (July 8, 2016), which would have coincided with his main event rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 200.

However, as well all know full well by now, the Featherweight champion balked when it came to satisfying the early leg of the promotional duties and retired on Twitter, prompting company president Dana White to pull him off the historic pay-per-view (PPV) card. Fences were seemingly mended late last week, but then hit a speed bump in Stockton, Calif., just a few days later.

The moral of the story: When all else fails, get naked.
