Bellator announces Ilima Macfarlane vs Rebecca Ruth for 'Dynamite 2'

Bellator 157 "Dynamite 2" comes to Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo. on June 24, 2016. The featured bout is a Heavyweight tilt pitting Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (36-11) against Satoshi Ishii (14-5-1) in a fight with heavy-hitting potential. A co-main event puts Michael Chandler (14-3) against Patricky Freire (16-7) to crown a new Lightweight champion.

The Spike TV main card has just been enhanced as Ilima-Lei Macfalane (3-0) will look to remain undefeated in the women's Flyweight division as she faces a more seasoned Rebecca Ruth (6-1).

The 26-year-old Macfarlane, better known as "Ilimanator," has impressed since her promotional debut at Bellator 141, showing rapid improvement in her last appearance when she submitted Amber Tackett at 2:09 of Round 1 at Bellator 148. If the promotion wants to crown a Flyweight champion she's certainly in contention.

However, Macfarlane will not be the crowd favorite when she takes on Robertsville, MO, native Ruth. The scrappy Shamrock FC veteran proved her worth in an upset victory over the highly touted Lena Ovchynnikova at Bellator 150. Ruth's wrestling game will give Macfarlane a serious challenge.
