Latest UFC rankings update: Stipe Miocic debuts on pound-for-pound list, Vitor Belfort holds steady at 185

Jason Silva-USA TODAY Sports

Thanks to his knockout win over Fabricio Werdum at UFC 198 (see it), Stipe Miocic is the new UFC heavyweight champion, which not only puts him atop the 265-pound rankings, but also landed him at No. 13 on the promotion's pound-for-pound list.

A place that saw "Vai Cavalo" plummet eleven spots.

Elsewhere on the UFC 198 fight card, Vitor Belfort was soundly beaten by Ronaldo Souza in the middleweight co-main event (replay), which took place last Saturday night (May 14, 2016) in Brazil. Fortunately for "The Phenom," it didn't cost him anything in the official rankings.

Go figure.

There you have it.

You can expect these standings to change in less than two weeks -- particularly in the bantamweight division -- as the UFC Fight Night 88: "Almeida vs. Garbrandt" event takes place inside Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada (more on that here).

Until then, let us know what you think of the latest rankings movement in the comments section below.
