Here's the X-ray of George Roop's broken leg ... and it's bad (pic)

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran George Roop, who rose to fame as a contestant on season eight of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), was looking to get back into the win column after parting ways with the world's preeminent mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion.

Instead, he wound up hospitalized with a broken leg (watch the graphic video here).

Roop was paired off against Lee Yun-Jun in the main event of ROAD FC 31, which took place last Sat. night (May 14, 2016) in Seoul, South Korea. Following his injury -- which is expected to cost him six-month on the sidelines -- the 34-year-old bantamweight was transferred to Wonju Jung Hospital.

At least he's in good spirits (courtesy ROAD FC).

Roop (15-13-1) was released by UFC back in February after dropping back-to-back fights to Takeya Mizugaki and Rob Font. The good news is, ROAD FC has already promised to bring him back to the cage if and when he's ready to make his combat sports comeback.
