In the Lightweight co-main event this past weekend (Sat., May 14, 2016) at GLORY 30, Marat Grigorian (46-9-2) landed a devastating high kick that instantly knocked out Coulibaly Djime (51-14-4) cold, sending him face first to the canvas.
"Marat Grigorian just put Djime in airplane mode," said GLORY play-by-play announcer Mauro Ranallo after Djime face planted into the mat. Watch the video below, too:
Grigorian, 24, was ranked No. 5 in GLORY's Lightweight division prior to the GLORY 30 co-main event. With the knockout win, the Armenian-Belgian fighter gets back into the win column following a unanimous decision loss in the GLORY 28 "Contender" tournament final to Sittichai Sitsongpeenong, which took place in March.
The highlight-reel finish will assuredly be an early candidate for the GLORY 2016 "Knockout of the Year."
