UFC Quick Quote: Stipe Miocic promises to keep heavyweight title for a long time

Jason Silva-USA TODAY Sports

"I've trained too hard. I want to keep this belt a long time. I'm going to keep this belt for awhile, I promise you that. It's up to the UFC, honestly. It's up to the UFC. Whoever they put in front of me, I'll fight. I'm all about getting home, I'm getting married in a couple weeks, that's all I care about right now."

-- Fabricio Werdum never got the chance to defend his Heavyweight title once after taking it from Cain Velasquez at UFC 188. That's because in his first title defense, Stipe Miocic starched him via a one-punch knockout in the very first round at UFC 198 -- which went down last night (Sat., May 14, 2016) in Curitiba, Brazil. Miocic doesn't intend to have a short title reign like "Vai Cavalo's," as he promised during the post-fight press confence (via MMA Fighting) that he will hold on to the title for a long time. His first defense will likely be against Alistair Overeem, who knows a thing or three about knocking people out, as well. Anyone thing Miocic can live up to his promise?
