Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight and welterweight champion, BJ Penn, is still expected to make his featherweight debut at the upcoming UFC 199 pay-per-view (PPV) event, locked and loaded for June 4, 2016 inside The Forum in Los Angeles, California, but he'll need to do it against a new opponent.
His original dance partner, Dennis Siver, withdrew from their clash in the "City of Angels" as the result of an undisclosed injury, according to the Hawaiian's official website.
Penn (16-10-2) briefly retired after his technical knockout loss to Frankie Edgar in July 2014. It was his third straight defeat and "The Prodigy" has just one win since 2009. It will be interesting to see how Joe Silva and Co. match him up for next month's return.
UFC 199 features a five-round middleweight championship main event as Chris Weidman tries to win his title back against Luke Rockhold, who stripped it from the "All American" at UFC 194. In the UFC 199 co-main event, Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber finally settle their longstanding rubber match.
