It's not unusual for a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter to claim they would kill their opponent inside the cage (sample), but it's not really a big deal because it's all talk, as no one intentionally tries to earn 25-to-life for televised murder.
Then again, you never know.
Especially when we're talking about former UFC welterweight Rousimar Palhares, who has a long and ugly history of injuring his opponents. Combine that level of sadism with the skinny legs of Conor McGregor and we could have ourselves a medical emergency.
From Daily Mail:
"I would consider returning to the UFC just to fight McGregor. I would kill him. He is too small and weak in jiu-jitsu to beat me. It would be a privilege to fight him but I would dominate with my ground game and submit him easily. When I play the fight In my head I see him giving in from a foot hold. He is too small to beat me. He shouldn't be in my division but a fight is a fight."
I think we can forget about Palhares returning to UFC.
I don't expect to see him back in World Series of Fighting (WSOF), either, after that nasty little business with Jake Shields last year. But don't cry for "Toquinho" just yet, as the Brazilian had no trouble finding employment overseas and will work his magic on May 21 in Italy.
