The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight division certainly lacks consistency when it comes to champions retaining their titles, but it is not short on hulking power punchers, strategic big men, and aging veterans who are always a few fights way from contention.
Leading into UFC Fight Night 87 on May 8 at the Ahoy Rotterdam arena in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Heavyweight hopeful Stefan Struve prepares himself for one of the more important bouts of his long career. Still only 28 years of age, the towering Dutchman will be competing in front of his home crowd for the first time since 2008.
Struve's preparation for the fight and gator-chasing downtime can be seen in the above episode of UFC On The Fly.
As a major figure in Dutch mixed martial arts (MMA), Struve (26-8) has the opportunity to right the ship and cancel out a recent loss to Jared Rosholt back at UFC 193 in front of his biggest supporters. Unfortunately, "Skyscraper" will have to ward off the power of Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva (20-7-1) if he wishes to get back into the win column.
UFC Fight Night 87 will be headlined by a Heavyweight collision between training partners and former world champions Andrei Arlovski and Alistair Overeem.
