Daniel Cormier vs Jon Jones 2 set for UFC 200 main event on July 9

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has a new, five-round championship main event for the upcoming UFC 200 pay-per-view (PPV) fight card, set for inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sat., July 9, 2016.

Daniel Cormier vs. Jon Jones, part two.

The announcement was made on Wednesday during the promotion's visit to Good Morning America on ABC, which means Cormier is cleared to resume training after his recent injury setback. In addition, Jones -- fresh off his UFC 197 win over Ovince Saint Preux -- is expected to sail through this check-up without incident.

And he'll be bringing his newly-minted interim title to "Sin City."

UFC 200 was left without a headliner when reigning featherweight champion Conor McGregor bailed on his mid-summer showdown with Nate Diaz. "Notorious" requested to be released from any and all promotional duties but UFC President Dana White was unaccommodating.

Cormier was unable to get past Jones when they first threw hands at UFC 182; however, "Bones" broke a few laws and found himself stripped of his title and suspended from mixed martial arts (MMA). During his absence, "DC" captured the vacant crown and managed to hold on to it for nearly a year.

Oh, and they hate each other's guts.
