Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

With news recently breaking that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will be unable to defend his title in a rematch with Jon Jones at UFC 197 on April 23 due to injury, mixed martial arts (MMA) pundits have been left scrambling for answers.

Luckily, they won't have to wait too much longer, as Jones recently took to Instagram to ensure his fans that he's willing to take on any Light Heavyweight or Heavyweight fighter on just a few weeks notice.

This is greats news for a UFC 197 pay-per-view card that was left to be headlined by a Flyweight title fight between champion Demetrious Johnson and Henry Cejudo. And even despite the fact that Jones rarely takes fights on short notice, evident by UFC 151's fallout, the former champion seems eager to redeem himself in any way possible.

He even took the road less traveled and wished Cormier a healthy recovery in this recent Twitter post:

Whatever happens, Jones will certainly earn some brownie points following his cancelled rematch with the champ.
