Maybe there was more to this story after all?
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion Conor McGregor just retired from mixed martial arts (MMA), because he wants to get out of the combat sports game while he's still young and has all his faculties, or something like that.
Well, that's according to his most recent tweet:
I have decided to retire young.

Thanks for the cheese.
Catch ya's later.
His coach doubles down:
Well was fun while it lasted

I guess UFC President Dana White will have to find a new main event for the upcoming UFC 200 pay-per-view (PPV) fight card, which takes place on Sat., July 9, 2016 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Unless, of course, this is simply another "Notorious" troll job and the Irishman is just looking for attention.
I'd say he's got it, based on the number of retweets, but here's another take:
Multiple sources are adamant at this time that McGregor's tweet isn't a joke, troll job or hoax of any kind. Reason(s) behind it is unclear.

Reasons still unclear, but 4 hours later, multiple sources maintaining McGregor's tweet is real. UFC working on next step(s) at this time.

UFC has yet to make any sort of comment regarding this recent bombshell, but rest assured we're just getting started.
