How do you know which mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter is the best in the world?
Just look at their bank account. That's according to longtime veteran Nate Diaz, who knows a thing or two about big paydays after his UFC 196 upset win over Conor McGregor earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada. As far as he's concerned, the promotion can keep its belt and just start writing checks.
From his appearance on UFC Tonight:
"If he wants it and UFC wants it, let's run it back. If not, whatever. I'm here to fight the best fighters in the world. If there's a second fight, I'll fight at 55. I'd like to be in shape. I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear no excuses. I'll make 55. I was planning on making 55 last time. I think that title thing is a fairy tale. The best fighters in the world are getting paid the best money. The belt is a fairy tale, as far as I'm concerned. That might piss a lot of people off."

Since Conor McGregor is the biggest star in MMA -- for now -- matchmakers have asked him to run it back with Diaz at the UFC 200 pay-per-view (PPV) event this July in "Sin City." While the word on the street is a welterweight rematch, Diaz prefers to keep it at 155 pounds.
Unles, of course, he's paid to do otherwise.
