UFC Brisbane highlights: Jake Matthews outworks Johnny Case, secures rear-naked choke finish

Lightweight rising star Jake Matthews followed up Dan Kelly's performance with a comeback of his own as he tapped Johnny Case on the UFC Fight Night 85 main card last night (Sat., March 19, 2016).

"The Celtic Kid" is just 21 years old and off to a fast start in his UFC career. He added to his resume in a big way when he stopped Power MMA's Case.

The American was flat-footed and tentative early on, which allowed Matthews to get out in front. Matthews was never fazed by the grappling prowess of Case in round one, but found himself in the middle of some trouble in round two.

The Arizona-based Case was able to hold down Matthews for a period in the second frame, before he was taken out in round three, due to the technical brilliance and transitions of the latter. Matthews sunk in the rear-naked choke after some tough defense from Case to earn his fourth UFC win.

He improves to 10-1 (4-1 UFC), while Case falls to 22-5 (4-1 UFC).
