We're little more than two months away from the year's most unexpected boxing blockbuster: Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's Middleweight title defense against former Super Lightweight champion, Amir Khan, which is set to take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 7, 2016.
Yep.
In preparation, the fighters will host a press conference this evening (Weds., March 2, 2016) from Universal City Walks "5 Towers" outdoor concert stage in Los Angeles, California. We have a LIVE stream in the video player above for you all fight fans, starting with the broadcast at 9 p.m. ET.
Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KO) won the WBC Middleweight championship in Nov. 2015 with a decision over Miguel Cotto in a fight contested at a 155-pound Catchweight. "Canelo" continues that tradition against Khan (31-3, 19 KO), who spent much of his career at 135 and 140 pounds before moving up to 147 for his last three fights.
In short, signs do not point to Alvarez actually fighting Gennady Golovkin later this year.
