Not long after Mauricio Rua was pulled from his UFC on FOX 19 showdown against Rashad Evans, thanks to a pesky knee injury that left him unable to compete, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rebooked him for a light heavyweight showdown against Corey Anderson.
They'll throw hands at the upcoming UFC 198: "Werdum vs. Miocic" pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place inside Arena da Baixada stadium in Curitiba, Brazil, on May 14, 2016.
Rua (23-10) recently rebounded from back-to-back knockout losses to Dan Henderson and Ovince Saint Preux by outpointing fellow aging veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Anderson (8-1), meanwhile, is the winner of three straight, squeaking by Tom Lawlor earlier this month at UFC 196.
Let's hope "Shogun," 34, can remain healthy.
UFC 198 will be headlined by the heavyweight title fight pitting reigning champion Fabricio Werdum opposite top division contender Stipe Miocic. In the UFC 198 co-main event, Ronaldo Souza tries to work his way back to a middleweight title shot at the expense of Vitor Belfort.
