Jon Jones not worried about teammate Holly Holm, says he has 'no doubt' she will be UFC champion again

Matt Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

Jon Jones knows how tough it is to pick yourself back up after making a mistake. The only difference between he and Jackson-Wink MMA teammate Holly Holm is that "Bones'" mental lapses occurred outside of the Octagon.

Still, the two train together down in Albuquerque, N.M., and remain very close friends, so it should be no secret as to why the former ruler of the light heavyweight division expects "The Preacher's Daughter" to dust off her saddle and get right after it, following the latter's submission loss to Miesha Tate at UFC 196 one week ago.

Bones knows (via FOX Sports):

"I'm not worried about Holly too much. I know for a fact that her best is yet to come. It really is. She will hold the belt again. No doubt in my mind. Just wait till she gets the game down. She's going to be scary. It would be great for Ronda (Rousey) and for Miesha Tate for Holly to go and crawl up and feel as if her dreams were crushed tonight, but literally they know that was one of the worst things that could have happened to them. Holly's going to come back with some serious vengeance."

Judging by her teammates' Instagram account and her post-fight remarks, Holm has wasted no time in preparing for a potential opportunity to regain the women's 135-pound title.

It just might be awhile before that happens if UFC president Dana White gets his way. If White follows through on his plan, Holm could be shelved, or forced to take a fight, until Tate and Ronda Rousey settle their differences for a third time.

Maybe she collides with "Alpha?"

The ex-boxing champion will undoubtedly tangle with "Rowdy" in the future, you can bet the house on that. Of course, Holm is most known for her shocking knockout of Rousey back at UFC 193 last November.

This brings me to an important question. In the ever-present world of rematches, and close calls, does Holm deserve to run it back with Tate immediately, especially after opting against an immediate rematch with Rousey later in 2016?

You know what to do.
