It didn't take long for heavyweight knockout artist Derrick Lewis to attain victory over the debuting Damian Grabowski on the FOX Sports 1 "Prelims" portion of the UFC Fight Night 82 card tonight (Sat., Feb. 6, 2016) inside MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
"The Black Beast" came into their "Sin City" meeting searching for consistency as he had not compiled consecutive wins since 2014. He was colliding with "The Polish Pitbull," who didn't do all that much biting when the lights hit.
After it looked like Lewis might land the one-punch knockout on the feet, the 30-year-old was quickly taken down by the esteemed grappler Grabowski. Fortunately enough, Lewis found a way back to his feet and brought the fight to the mat quickly, where he worked his ground and pound.
The Texas native postured up at times and cut open his opponent with a huge shot just over a minute into their contest. Grabowski would eventually turtle up from the damage he was sustaining from Lewis.
Referee Mark Smith called a stop to the tilt at the 2:17 mark of round one.
