Mickey Gall wins CM Punk sweepstakes with victory over Mike Jackson at UFC Fight Night 82

WWE superstar CM Punk finally has an opponent and his name is Mickey Gall.

The 24-year-old mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter from New Jersey earned his opportunity by defeating Mike Jackson in the "Fight Pass" prelims of UFC Fight Night 82 tonight (Sat., Feb. 6, 2016).

It didn't take long either. The fighter stalked, dropped and choked out Jackson, who was making his MMA debut, all inside of 45 seconds into the very first round.

Gall, who moved to 2-0 with the victory, will now welcome Punk to the world of MMA.

"It feels amazing," he said in the post-fight interview. "Last time I was on the mic I was talking about one guy and I'm still thinking about one guy. I want to be fed, I'm hungry! Feed me CM Punk please!"

The UFC acquiesced by having Punk square off with the winner inside the cage.

In an interview with UFC.com earlier this week the 37-year-old pro wrestler said he was excited at the opportunity to finally receive an opponent more than 14 months after signing with UFC.

"The light at the end of the tunnel is a fantastic way to describe it," said Punk. "This is the reason I'm doing it and I can see that light and I'm excited to get there."
