UFC Quick Quote: It's 'ridiculous' for CM Punk to make his MMA debut in UFC

"I don't know what's going to happen with that guy. I don't understand this whole thing. Well, I also think it's ridiculous for him to fight in the UFC. I think he should fight in a small organization. Take a fight in a small organization, build yourself up. I have always said that's what should have happened with Brock Lesnar."

That was UFC color commentator Joe Rogan on his "Experience" podcast speaking with Bas Rutten (briefly) about WWE crossover CM Punk. Despite signing with UFC way back in December 2014, the 37-year-old Punk has yet to step inside the Octagon thanks to a series of injuries and an apparent lack of opponents. Things looked to be finally settled recently when "Looking For A Fight" reality TV prospect Mickey Gall won the CM Punk sweepstakes by defeating Mike Jackson at UFC Fight Night 82 earlier this month. But it had scarcely been 24 hours later when Punk was felled by another injury requiring immediate surgery. The good news is it will only delay his UFC appearance by an estimated month. The bad news, if you believe Rogan, is that he's making his mixed martial arts (MMA) debut in the wrong organization.
