Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be sending some of its mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters to the sidelines following the carnage at the UFC on FOX 18 event last Sat. night (Jan. 30, 2016) inside Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Chief among them is lightweight lightning rod Sage Northcutt, who blew up his foot -- among other things -- with a trip up to the 170-pound weight class (replay). Joining him on the list of indefinite suspensions are Diego Ferreira and Damon Jackson, just to name a few.

That's not all.

Here is the complete list of UFC on FOX 18 injuries and medical suspensions (via MMA Fighting):

Ryan Bader: Suspended 60 days for knockout; suspended indefinitely pending neurological exam, suspended indefinitely pending CT head scan.
Josh Barnett: Suspended 30 days for facial laceration.
Bryan Barberena: Suspended 45 days for forehead laceration.
Sage Northcutt: Suspended indefinitely pending x-rays of right foot and toes; suspended 30 days for forehead laceration.
Jake Ellenberger: Suspended 45 days for nasal laceration; suspended indefinitely pending left forearm evaluation.
Diego Ferreira: Suspended indefinitely pending x-rays of left ankle.
Rafael Natal: Suspended indefinitely pending opthalmological clearance; suspended 30 days for facial laceration.
Kevin Casey: Suspended 30 days (14 days no contact) for TKO.
George Sullivan: Suspended 60 days (30 days no contact) for KO.
Matt Dwyer: Suspended indefinitely pending opthalmological exam.
Damon Jackson: Suspended indefinitely pending opthalmological exam; suspended 30 days for facial laceration; suspended indefinitely pending x-rays of right foot.
Felipe Olivieri: Suspended 30 days.

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
