MMA: TUF Tournament of Champions-Benavidez vs Cejudo Tracy Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 24 Finale injuries and medical suspensions for those athletes competing at the "Johnson vs. Elliott" mixed martial arts (MMA) event last weekend (Sat., Dec. 3, 2016) from inside Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, were released on Tuesday by Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

Leading the list of mandatory timeouts is flyweight title contender Henry Cejudo, who may have busted up his left hand by using it to punch Joseph Benavidez in the TUF 24 Finale co-main event (see it again here).

Joining him on the injured reserves is welterweight slugger Jake Ellenberger. “The Juggernaut” will be riding the pine until a doctor looks at his left foot -- the same one that got stuck in the Octagon during a bizarre technical knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal (video).

That's not all.

Full list of TUF 24 Finale suspensions include:

Henry Cejudo: Must have left hand x-rayed, if positive then must be cleared by orthopedic doctor or no contest until 06/02/17; minimum suspension of no contest until 12/25, no contact until 12/18.

Jake Ellenberger: Must have left foot x-rayed or have an MRI, if positive then must be cleared by orthopedic doctor or no contest until 06/02/17; minimum suspension of no contest until 01/03/17, no contact until 12/25

Ryan Benoit: Must have nose x-rayed, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 06/02/17; minimum suspension of no contest until 01/03/17, no contact until 12/25

Devin Clark: Must have right thumb x-rayed, if positive then must be cleared by orthopedic doctor or no contest until 06/02/17

Sara McMann: Suspended until 01/18/17, no contact until 01/03/17

Gray Maynard: Suspended until 01/18/17, no contact until 01/03/17 due to left eyebrow laceration

Matt Schnell: Suspended until 01/18/17, no contact until 01/03/17

Jamie Moyle: Suspended until 01/18/17, no contact until 01/03/17 due to laceration above left eye

Elvis Mutapcic: Suspended until 01/18/17, no contact until 01/03/17 due to left frontal scalp laceration

Tim Elliott: Suspended until 01/03/17, no contact until 12/25

Jared Cannonier: Suspended until 12/25, no contact until 12/18

Rob Font: Must have follow-up MRA in two years, due 12/01/18

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
