Watch TJ Dillashaw vs John Lineker full video highlights - UFC 207

In one of the more interesting bouts last night (Fri., Dec. 30, 2016) at UFC 207 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, former bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw attempted to lock down another title shot when he met surging knockout artist John Lineker. Dillashaw was coming off a decision win over Raphael Assuncao at UFC 200 this past July while Lineker had compiled a 4-0 record since moving back up to 135 pounds in 2015. It was all Dillashaw the whole way through.

Dillashaw threw unorthodox strikes from the outside before landing a big takedown and strong ground-and-pound to stifle Lineker’s striking power in the early going. The Brazilian would return to his feet and try to bait Dillashaw into a slugfest, but the former champ remained patient in his offensive approach. In Round 2, Dillashaw fainted high and landed a big body kick before sprinting in for another takedown. From there, he’d punish Lineker with stiff elbows and nasty ground-and-pound as the Brazilian continued to tire and was nearly finished. It was much of the same in the final frame as Dillashaw dictated the pace of the action, circled on the feet, mixed in wrestling and took away any chance Lineker had of landing heavy strikes. Dillashaw would cruise to the unanimous decision victory.

With this win, Dillashaw moves right back into position to challenge for the title. An argument can be made that he deserved a rematch with Dominick Cruz after losing the title back at UFC Fight Night 81 via split decision. After this masterful performance against a tough out at 135 pounds, Dillashaw has no one in his way as he makes a move for gold in 2017.
