I think most of us knew Johny Hendricks was going through a rough weight cut, based on this video released earlier today, so it probably won’t come as a surprise to learn that way-too-big “Rigg” missed weight.
Hendricks tipped the scale at 173.5 for his welterweight showdown against Neil Magny (171), which takes place at the upcoming UFC 207 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on Friday night (Dec. 30, 2016) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He wasn’t the only one.
UFC flyweight Ray Borg crushed the scale at 129.5 pounds for his Louis Smolka (125.5) bout, which means both offending fighters — now ruled ineligible for any post-fight bonuses — will have to cough up 20-percent of their purses.
No question Hendricks will be forced to move up to middleweight, something not uncommon these days now that United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) banned intravenous hydration.
