Dominick Cruz has been wrecking Cody Garbrandt in the verbal sparring leading up to their clash at UFC 207 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, this Friday night (Dec. 30, 2016) on pay-per-view (PPV). However, during a recent interview to hype their co-main event this weekend, “No Love” could no longer handle Cruz seemingly going after his girlfriend ... again.
The interview starts with Cruz-schooling footage we have come to expect over the last few weeks. Cruz calls him a meathead. Then Garbrandt mentions Cruz coming after his girlfriend on social media, to which Cruz reminds Garbrandt that she “came to him” and to “keep your fling on a string.” He goes on to tell Garbrandt that he did him a favor because his girl clearly wears the pants in the relationship. That was seemingly that final straw as Garbrandt offers to come to where Cruz is and start the UFC 207 co-main event festivities 48 hours early.
Cruz welcomes it, and Garbrandt tells the attending technician to unhook him. He proceeds to get up and walk out. Cruz, brilliantly, continues the interview by himself, ripping apart Garbrandt on-air, saying that “No Love” has a need to perceive himself as a savage that he can’t help his behavior. He did this while Garbrandt was throwing things and cursing in the “next room over” off camera.
It was a scene reminiscent of when Nate Diaz walked out of a similar interview with Conor McGregor before UFC 196.
