Bellator 170: "Ortiz vs. Sonnen" comes to The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Jan. 21, 2017. The show will feature MMA legends squaring off as "Bad Boy" Tito Ortiz meets "Bad Guy" Chael Sonnen in the main event on Spike TV.
It's not the first time these two have had a historic encounter.
Fans may have wondered what the self-described "American Gangster" from West Linn, Oregon meant when he said he would replace Ortiz AGAIN. Focus on the word "again" for a moment. Why would Sonnen threaten to do it a second time?
The simple answer is this: Ortiz and Sonnen had a collegiate wrestling match almost 20 years ago (1998) on Sonnen's home turf in Oregon.
