If at first you don’t succeed, stop lifting so many damn weights and try again.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight adonis Sage Northcutt is abandoning his post at 170 pounds in favor of smaller competition, thanks to a submission loss to Mickey Gall last Saturday night (Dec. 17, 2016) at UFC on FOX 22.
Watch the replay here.
“Sorry everybody I didn't perform as I would have liked,” Northcutt wrote on Instagram. “I'll be going back down to my real weight class 155lbs! Thanks for all of the support and to all the people that came out to watch.”
Your frying pan is finally safe.
After making his Octagon debut in the 155-pound division, the “Super” prospect jumped up in weight to tangle with Bryan Barberena — to disastrous results. Northcutt quickly rebounded by outpointing Enrique Marin ... then came his Gall stall.
Maybe his struggles can be remedied here and not on the scale?
Time will tell.
