Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returned to the pay-per-view (PPV) market over the weekend (Sat., Dec. 10, 2016) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, without its most prized French Canadian superstar. Nonetheless, UFC 206, which took place inside Air Canada Centre, delivered the goods — and the finishes — to the surprising delight of the mixed martial arts (MMA) fans who tuned in on fight night. Oh, you didn’t bother to watch after Georges St-Pierre was denied and the original main event between Light Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson was scratched? Suckers! Fear not, though, because UFC 206: “Fight Motion” captures all the awesome action, including the instant classic between Featherweight standouts Cub Swanson vs. Doo Ho Choi (highlights), as well as Max Holloway stopping former Lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis, in the main event to capture the latest interim 145-pound belt (highlights). If that wasn’t enough fun, Donald Cerrone wrecked Matt Brown with a brutal walkoff headkick knockout (highlights), while Kelvin Gastelum pulverized Tim Kennedy en route to a brutal technical knockout finish late in their Middleweight contest (highlights). Indeed, UFC 206 was a sleeper PPV event that was entertaining from bell-to-bell, which didn’t even feature Lando “Full Camp” Vannatta and his incredible spinning-kick knockout of John Makdessi (highlights).
