Bellator 169: "King Mo vs. Ishii" goes down inside 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, this Friday night (Dec. 16, 2016) live on Spike TV. Fight fans in attendance will also get to enjoy a BAMMA card presented in co-promotion with Bellator MMA.
Speaking of which, Bellator announce that it added a Featherweight fight between Sinead Kavanagh (3-0) vs. Elina Kallionidou (5-0) even though there are just four days until showtime.
Previously, the Bellator portion was supposed to feature a Flyweight bout between Helen Harper vs. Bruna Vargas, which was actually an injury replacement for Harper vs. Bruna Ellen. It appears that Vargas has now also withdrawn from this bout with an injury. With no late replacement available to face Harper, Bellator is paying The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 23 alum her show money for Bellator 169. The 4-1 Harper will be scheduled for a new fight later on down the road.
Kavanagh will undoubtedly be the crowd favorite, hailing from the Straight Blast Gym, home to Conor McGregor and fellow Bellator 169 fighter James Gallagher. Kallionidou should not be taken lightly, though. She won her first fight by knockout just days after her 16th birthday and has finished two other wins the same way. Indeed, the Greek fighter won't come to Dublin to roll over for Kavanagh.
