The big announcement has been made. Newly crowned Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight king Conor McGregor will be a daddy early next year. The baby is due in May.

"There's a few bombshells I wanted to hit. Will I do it, will I don't do it," said McGregor during the UFC 205 post-fight press conference (watch here). "I have a few announcements, but one announcement is that I'm going to be a daddy early next year. I'm crapping me jocks.

"I'm not going to lie. I don't even know what way to take it. It's messing with me head because I don't want to be bringing a child into this. So I'm going to have this baby, take some time and see what way I feel after that."

For weeks, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) superstar had teased the delivery of a big announcement following his UFC 205 main event bout opposite Eddie Alvarez last night (Sat., Nov. 12, 2016) from Madison Square Garden in New York City. Rumors swirled all around the mixed martial arts (MMA) community, including McGregor's potential retirement, a lucrative superfight with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. and fatherhood. Even Alvarez chimed in on the speculation, adding that McGregor is having two kids and his girlfriend isn't having twins.

After knocking out Alvarez at UFC 205 to earn his second title, the 28-year-old Irishman deserves all the time in the world to handle his personal matters and ready himself for his first UFC title defense next year, whether that's at featherweight or lightweight.
