What does it take for Fedor Emelianenko to speak out against a fellow Russian?
This.
The “Last Emperor” was appalled at the recent kids vs. kids “spectacle” put forth by Akhmat Fight Club: "Grand Prix Akhmat 2016 Finals" on Tuesday from inside Sport Hall Coliseum in Grozny, Russia.
"What happened at the tournament in Grozny is unacceptable and, moreover, cannot be justified," Emelianenko posted on Instagram (via Sportsnet). "There were little ones, eight years old, punching each other in front of happy adults. Is it really so important for you to organize a spectacle at the cost of children's health?"
We have that in America, it’s called “Toddlers and Tiaras.”
The usually-reserved Emelianenko tends to be outspoken when it comes to the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA). Not only does the former PRIDE FC heavyweight champion stick up for children, he’s also a staunch opponent of women fighting inside the cage.
Probably because it keeps them from “more feminine duties” like raising children.
