It's been a good year for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion Conor McGregor, who claims that he will clear about $40 million once his 2016 mixed martial arts (MMA) campaign concludes.
And he hasn't even defended his world title, instead taking two "money weight" fights against Nate Diaz at 170 pounds and next a 155-pound showdown with lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205, which takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y., on Nov. 12, 2016. "Notorious" will look to replicate his pay-per-view (PPV) success from earlier this year and, because UFC 205 is so stacked, will probably lead another record-breaking event.
That means money -- lots and lots of money -- will be made by the Irishman to the tune of possibly more than $200 million for the world's leading MMA league.
