By all accounts, Conor McGregor hurled two Monster Energy cans -- and untold water bottles -- at Nate Diaz and his entourage at the ill-fated pre-fight press conference to promote UFC 202, which took place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Aug. 20, 2016. The punishment was ridiculous, totaling $150,000 in the form of a hefty fine ($75,000) and other obligations.
McGregor was initially incredulous, which soon turned to rebellious. Now it's a little bit of cheeky genius:
Yep, McGregor is suggesting that he is selling the two cans at $75,000 a pop that may or may not have caused bodily harm. After all, it could get worse before it gets better. Like, much worse.
The self-proclaimed $40 million man clearly doesn't need donations from super fans to pay his fines. It's just another shot across the bow of Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) to illustrate just how obtuse and excessive its recent ruling was. But, who knows, diehard UFC fans have been known to do really dumb things.
Stephen Thompson, meanwhile, remains on a whole 'nother ninja-like level:
