In a solid Middleweight fight for mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran Nate Marquardt last night (Sat., Oct. 1, 2016) opposite Tamdan McCrory at UFC Fight Night 96 live from Moda Center in Portland, Ore., power reigned supreme. While McCrory threatened off his back in round one, it was Marquardt who continued to press the action and land on the feet. After the action was stood up following a Marquardt takedown that went stale, "The Great" landed a vicious right hand that wobbled "The Barn Cat." Marquardt then blasted McCrory with a deadly head kick to earn the second-round knockout finish.

With this win, Marquardt moves back into the UFC win column and should once again threaten at 185 pounds. But at 37 years of age, the former title challenger must remain cautious and conservative as he climbs the Middleweight ladder.
