It's on! Conor McGregor vs Rafael dos Anjos, Holly Holm vs Miesha Tate official for UFC 197

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

UFC 197 is now official for MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 5, 2016, after a slight delay (more on that here), according to a press release from the world's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion.

Indeed, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has a blockbuster championship doubleheader on tap for its upcoming pay-per-view (PPV) event, as Featherweight champion Conor McGregor will move up to Lightweight to challenge Rafael dos Anjos, while women's Bantamweight champion Holly Holm collides with Miesha Tate.

The bout was said to be in danger, as reports surfaced citing that "Notorious" was holding out for more money.

That's all in the past now, as the event is full speed ahead. While it's great news for MMA fans, it's bad news for Frankie Edgar, who now has to decide whether or not he wants to wait six months to challenge McGregor for the 145-pound belt or take another fight in the interim.

As for Holm, she got her wish, no longer forced to ride the pine to wait for a rematch against Ronda Rousey at UFC 200 (though it still could happen) after capturing the crown back in Nov. 2015.

In addition, a March 5 title fight makes good on Tate's request to get another crack at the 135-pound title after winning four straight.

See you in "Sin City!"
