Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) recently summoned mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters Nick Diaz, Rousimar Palhares, and Jake Shields for its upcoming disciplinary hearing in Las Vegas next Monday (Sept. 14, 2015), which takes place 9 a.m. local time (noon ET).
MMA Fighting brought word of the hearing earlier this week.
Diaz is expected to answer for a failed drug test way back at UFC 183, one that also popped fellow headliner Anderson Silva. While "The Spider" went before the commission just last month, Team Diaz has been dragging this thing out for several months.
More on that here.
Joining him will be World Series of Fighting (WSOF) welterweights Jake Shields and Rousimar Palhares. "Toquinho" tapped his former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran, but held the submission too long and chaos ensued (full report here).
No word yet on whether or not the upcoming hearing will stream live on UFC Fight Pass, but we'll be sure to have real-time coverage of the event as it unfolds.
See you next week.
