Ronda Rousey honored a 'cultural icon' like Beyonce recognizes her existence

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

It didn't take long for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey to hear that R&B queen Beyonce sampled her "Do Nothing Bitch" quote during one of her concerts.

For Rousey -- who is a superstar in her own right -- simply having a cultural icon such as Beyonce recognize that she exists is truly surreal. So you can imagine how floored she was when she saw this clip.

As "Rowdy" recently told Entertainment Tonight, she couldn't be more grateful for the props she received from one of the biggest stars on the planet.

"To be honest, it's a honor to have a real powerhouse of a woman like Beyoncé just recognize my existence. It's surreal how something I thought was a pre-fight rant in my hotel room that would end up scrapped on some editor's floor has taken off to the point a cultural icon like Beyoncé is playing it between songs at her concert. Such a huge compliment, I couldn't be more grateful."

Real recognizes real.

Though she still has a long way to go to reach Beyonce's level, Rousey is on the right path to reach cultural icon status herself thanks to her efforts inside the Octagon as well as the success outside of it; which includes movie deals, book sales and modeling.

Ronda will continue to do what she does best -- when she's not busy bouncing at the Double Deuce -- as she attempts to defend her 135-pound title against Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193, which is set to go down on Nov. 15, 2015 in Melbourne, Australia.
