"Bull" Brandon Halsey has treated Bellator MMA like a china shop, smashing through opponents en route to an unblemished (9-0) record.
In fact, Halsey's only defeat so far has come at on the scale ahead of Bellator 137.
Unfortunately for Halsey that meant he was immediately stripped of the Middleweight title he won with a submission of Alexander Shlemenko in 2014. Indeed, even a win in the main event of Bellator 137 would not keep the title around his waist.
With his win over Kendall Grove in May of this year, Halsey earned the right to fight for the now-vacant title, and he'll get that opportunity at Bellator 144 on Oct. 23, 2015, against Rafael Carvalho.
Carvalho is also unbeaten in Bellator MMA, with his only loss whatsoever coming in his first professional fight in 2011. He's been on a perfect run (11-0) since, including a hard fought-split decision win over 'Stitch "Em Up" Joe Schilling.
Halsey and Carvalho become part of a title fight double header that night on Spike TV, as current Bantamweight champion Marcos Galvao will face former champion Marcos Galvao.
