Finally.
Nearly a decade after Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) first tried to put this heavyweight showdown together, Andrei Arlovski and Frank Mir have once again been pegged to square off, this time in the UFC 191 pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event, which takes place later tonight (Sat., Sept. 5, 2015) inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Get ready for some heavy leather.
Arlovski (24-10, 1 NC) worked his way back to the world's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion in early 2014, but also made the most of his opportunity by stringing together three straight wins over Brendan Schaub, Antonio Silva, and Travis Browne.
One more and he's likely to earn a division title shot.
Mir (18-9), meanwhile, has assumed the role of comeback kid after firing off back-to-back knockout victories over Antonio Silva and Todd Duffee. Those wins silenced talk about retirement, after the former heavyweight champ came up lame in four consecutive fights.
I have a feeling somebody is getting an early bedtime in "Sin City."
See you tonight!
