"The California kid" has a return date and it's the stacked UFC 194 pay-per-view (PPV) event.
UFC 194 (full fight card here) already contains a stellar quartet of champions and challengers like Jose Aldo, Conor McGregor, Chris Weidman, and Luke Rockhold. Now it will also feature the former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) featherweight titleholder Urijah Faber, who takes on the streaking Frankie Saenz in a 135-pound tilt.
No word on whether the contest will take place on the PPV lineup, or on the undercard, which Faber (32-8) has fought on multiple times during his UFC run.
The 36-year-old veteran is coming off a one-sided loss to former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar back in May, when he bumped up to featherweight for UFC Fight Night 66.
Faber is 2-2 across his last four fights.
Saenz (11-2), meanwhile, heads into this bantamweight exchange white hot, having compiled three-straight Octagon victories, bringing his overall win streak to seven. He last defeated Sirwan Kakai via split-decision at UFC Fight Night 73 back in August.
This announcement comes on the heels of a previous booking, which slots former middleweight title challenger Demian Maia opposite rising star Gunnar Nelson, and Hawaiian kickboxer Max Holloway against knockout artist Jeremy Stephens.
