It's the ol' UFC title fight switch-a-roo!
Just a week after Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight titleholder Robbie Lawler bowed out of his scheduled UFC 193 meeting on Nov. 15, 2015 with former interim champ Carlos Condit due to a thumb injury, the pair have a new date to do the tango.
Their 170-pound title match up has been tabbed to replace the previous UFC 195 pay-per-view (PPV) headliner of women's bantamweight queenpin Ronda Rousey versus fellow undefeated mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Holly Holm, which was moved to UFC 193 in the wake of Lawler's injury, according to FOX Sports Live.
Lawler and Condit join a card that already features a championship tussle between women's strawweight titleholder Joanna Jedrzejczyk and No. 1 contender Claudia Gadelha -- though the tilt could be up in the air because of the latter's own finger woes.
UFC 195 takes place on Jan. 2, 2016 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. A pivotal women's bantamweight showdown pitting former top contender Miesha Tate against rising star Amanda Nunes is also being targeted to take place that very night in "Sin City."
