Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight titleholder Rashad Evans will finally make his mixed martial arts (MMA) return at the upcoming UFC 192 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on Saturday night (Oct. 3, 2015) in Houston, Texas.
And when he does, he's got a score to settle.
That's because Ryan Bader, who meets "Suga" inside the Toyota Center on the UFC 192 main card, tried to play mind games on Twitter, and posted a photo of Evans tipping the scale at nearly 260 pounds, a direct result of inactivity due to knee surgery.
According to his conversation with Las Vegas Sun, Bader is going to rue the day...
"He should know one thing: I would never get into the cage looking fat. But he should hope for that version of me because by him doing that, he's messed up. He's going to get the Rashad Evans that showed up and whipped Chael (Sonnen). Too bad for Bader. I don't think he has the high-level wins consistently to warrant a title shot. He's shown he has become a little bit smarter fighter, but honestly speaking, Bader used to be the dumbest damn fighter in the UFC."
See the "fat" photo here.
Evans hasn't competed since beating the brakes off Chael Sonnen in late 2013, thanks to a string of unfortunate injuries. That said, the layoff hasn't done much to hurt his light heavyweight stock, as "Suga" holds a sweet spot at No. 5 in the "official" rankings.
