Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight contender Carlos Condit was not accepting any fights until he first learned the extent of Robbie Lawler's thumb injury, one that was severe enough to boot him from their UFC 193 title fight in November.

Smart move.

Lawler will not require surgery to get back into the fight game, according to the good folks at UFC Tonight, and is already planning for a UFC 195 return against "The Natural Born Killer."

That upcoming mixed martial arts (MMA) pay-per-view (PPV) event, which features the Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Claudia Gadelha strawweight title fight, goes down on Jan. 2, 2016 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lawler hasn't seen action since pulverizing Rory MacDonald at UFC 189 last July. Condit, meanwhile, returned from an injury layoff of his own to crush welterweight veteran Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 67.
