Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to the pay-per-view (PPV) market this Saturday night (Oct. 3, 2015) for its "Cormier vs. Gustafsson" mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which takes place inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, and features "Prelims" on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

UFC 192 features light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier defending his 205-pound title against top-ranked contender Alexander Gustafsson. Elsewhere on the PPV fight card, former 205-pound champion Rashad Evans tangles with Ryan Bader.

Round 1: DC on the front foot early. Inside low kick lands, Gustafsson to the outside. More leg kicks. DC shoots in on the fence and slams Gustafsson down via high-crotch. Side control, now half guard. One minute in. Short punches by the champ. Gustafsson regains full guard, eats an elbow. Cormier keeping busy with the GnP. Gustfasson tries to kick him away and stand, cannot do so. Two minutes in. Cormier digs to the body. Gustafsson avoiding some damage but still eating punches. Two minutes to go.

Alex tosses up his legs for a triangle, manages to retain half guard. Good elbows by Cormier, who passes to side control. Gustfasson manages to scramble to his feet. One minute to go. Low kick by Gus, head kick blocked. Low kick and overhand right land for Cormier. DC catches a body kick, can't do anything with it. Cormer stuffs a shot and they exchange on the way up. 10-9 Cormier

Round 2: Gus's punches hitting shoulder in the early going. Looping uppercut and right hook whiff. Gus fakes a level change, touches the body with the right. Good body shot by Gustafsson, who stops a shot but eats a right hand on the retreat. One minute in. Cormier catches a knee, can't take him down with it. Gustafsson changes levels and hits a takedown on DC, who manages to pop up. Good punches from Gustafsson. DC ties up and lands uppercuts from the single collar tie. DC catches a knee and shoots in on the fence. Two minutes in. Gustafsson slips free and they return to the center. Front kick to the body from Gustafsson. Cormier bleeding from his right eye. Round 4: Body kick from Gustafsson, then a leg kick. Right hand by DC, better right hand from Gustafsson in response. 1-2 lands for him. Gustafsson shoots in and takes Cormier to the fence. More uppercuts from DC in the clinch. Gustafsson pumps the jab. One minute in. Body kick by the challenger, DC with a backfist and left hook. Nice left hands from DC as Gustafsson retreats. Another left hook. Knee to the body. Cormer continues to pursue. Two minutes in. Right hands from Gustafsson on the counter. Overhand right from the champ, then a lead right and uppercut. Good overhand right by Cormier and another. Low kick lands for him, then another right hand. Left-right by Cormier, then another left hook. Glancing left hook. Two minutes in. Lead right by Cormier, takedown attempt by Gustafsson. Cormier continuing to pursue, whacks him with some more uppercuts and left hands. e's taken the momentum of tis round. Nasty rigth by Gustafsson, more uppercuts by DC. Two minutes to go.

They continue to move about in the clinch. Cormier avoids a knee. Good uppercuts from DC. Gus answers in kind. Good shots by Cormier inside. Left hook and uppercut, Gus comes back with a knee. One minute to go. Cormier finding more and more success in the clinch to the head and body. Gus changes levels, eats another uppercut. The champ is doing great work inside. Hard knee from Gustafsson knocks Cormier's mouthpiece out. Great fight; 10-9 Cormier. He took the first and fifth fairly clearly, but there's no telling how the middle rounds where scored.

Round 1: Bader lands a low kick to start. Jab from Bader. Looping right falls short. Body kick connects, high kick does not. One minute in. Nice right from Bader. Evans' counter flurry dos not connect. Body kick from Bader, Rashad lands a pair of right hands when Bader fakes a takedown. Two minutes in. More solid jabs from Bader. Lead right lands for him. Bader continuing to jab well, lands a lead hook. Two minutes to go.

Bader's looking really, really good on the feet. Rashad paws with the jab. Counter right from Rashad just misses. One minute to go. Evans connects with a right hand and moves into the clinch. Bader reverses position and exits with an elbow. Both whiff with right hands. Bell, 10-9 Bader.

Round 2: Bader sticks the jab early. Good right hand and left hook by Bader. Loping right misses. Side kick by Bader. One minute in. Body kick connects. The jab battle continues and Bader is winning. Bader shoots in and takes Rashad down against the cage. Rashad gives up his back on the way up and Bader grabs the rear waistlock. Another takedown, Evans pops back up. Two minutes in. Brief outside trip attempt. Rashad knees the body on the break. Rashad just misses with an overhand right. Right hand from Rashad and they briefly clinch up. Two minutes to go.

Bader's jab continues to land. Good leg kick from Evans. Body kick from Bader in return, then another stiff jab. Bader to the body with the right. One minute to go. Rashad fires an overhand right, eats a couple in return. Glancing counter right from Rashad. Rashad shoots, gets in on Bader's hips. Bader fights it off until the bell. 10-9 Bader.

Round 3: Rashad's right eye has quite a bit of swelling.

Left hook from Bader. Where did he get this jab? Low kick from Evans, counter left by Bader. Left hook lands for Ryan. Another left hook by Bader. One minute in. Lead uppercut connects. Evans continues to fall short, eats another right hand from Bader. Yet another lead hook. Two minutes in. counter right from Bader, lead right by Rashad as he steps into the clinch. Elbow on the break from Bader. Body kick by Bader, another jab lands clean. Two minutes to go.

Evans changes levels on the fence. Bader stuffs it and digs a right to the body. Nice elbow on the break by Darth. Overhand right lands for him. Rashad with an overhand right. One minute to go. Glancing high kick from Rashad. Bader again pops him with that lovely jab. Blast double from Bader and he completes it. Evans manages to pop right back up. Bader ties up when Rashad swings and he goes for his hips until the bell. 10-9 Bader.

265 lbs.: Shawn Jordan vs. Ruslan Magomedov

Round 1: Magomedov fires a head kick to start as Jordan advances. Counter flurry from the Dagestani lands as he circles. Check hook by Ruslan and Jordan ties up. One minute in. Jordan pressing him against the cage. Ruslan reverses, Jordan reverses right back. He changes levels and gets Magomedov to his rear despite the latter grabbing the fence. Two minutes in. Magomedov looking to counter with a Kimura grip. Twi minutes to go.

Back to their feet. Magomedov spins his way free. Jordan pursues with a flurry. Lead right by Magomedov. Head kick and a nice combination behind it. One minute to go. Magomedov to the body. Nice counter right connects. Bell. 10-9 Magomedov.

Round 2: Jordan tells his corner he might have a broken rib. That's not good.

Magomedov fires a Brazilian kick, the connects with a flurry of punches. Nice right hand by Jordan and he looks for an outside trip. Not there, so he presses the Dagestani against the fence and changes levels. Maomedov reverses position. One minute in. Combination from Magomedov, overhand right by Jordan. Jordan changes levels again on the fence. Elbows by Magomedov. Jordan hoists him up but can't finish it. Two minutes in. Magomedov turns him around and sneaks in an uppercut. Magomedov fires a head kick on the break and the toe catches Jordan's eye. Counter right by Magomedov, who offers Jordan a chance to pause. Magomedov with a leg kick. Two minutes to go.

Teep by the Deagestani. Nice lead hook. Head kick attempt. Low kick and left hook land, Jordan shoots in. Magomedov turns him around on the fence. One minute to go. Magomedov lands a knee to the body and Jordan grabs double underhooks. Magomedov turns him around again and knees the thighs. Another head kick on the break just misses. They circle until the bell, much to the crowd's displeasure. 10-9 Magomedov.

Round 3: Overhand right from Jordan and Magomedov fires off a series of counter punches. Jordan tries to change levels and Magomedov grabs the front headlock. Knee to the thigh from Jordan. Magomedov turns him around with double underhooks. Elbows by Ruslan and a nice uppercut. Head kick, spinning back kick to the head both blocked. Both of Jordan's eyes are bleeding. 3-2-2 by Magomedov. Head kick blocked. Counter hook lands. Two minutes in. Brazilian kick hits forearm, another one goes high. Good right hand from Ruslan, leg kick from Jordan. Another straight right and front kick by the Dagestani. Two minutes in.

Jordan ties up and presses him against the fence. He changes levels, can't get the left. Magomedov reverses. Both land uppercuts inside. Head kick from Magomedov on the break. They clinch and go back to the fence, Jordan on the outside. One minute to go. Elbow on the break from the American. Brazilian kick lands with the toes for Magomedov. Good jabs connect, as does a front kick to the body. Another teep. Head kick from Magomedov, right hand from Jordan before the bell. 10-9 Magomedov.

Round 1: If Bagautinov wins, I'm calling him "Da Ali B Show."

Rush from Benavidez, no clean contact. Looping right lands for him, Bagautinov tries to come back with the uppercut. One minute in. Counters from Ali. Joe B cointers to the body. Both men winging some nasty combos. Left hook by the Dagestani. Joe B tries a head kick. Two minutes in. Head kick and overhand left by Benavidez. Two minutes to go.

Benavidez hurls another looping right, eats a leg kick, a counter right, and an uppercut when he tries to shoot in. Straight right lands for the American. They exchange in the center. Rights from Bagautinov answer a body kick. One minute to go. Benavidez dips in low and gets knocked off-balance by Bagautinov. Right hook lands for Joe in transition. Benavidez is cut over the eye. Joe B looks for head kicks as Bagautinov looks for right hands. One more exchange at the bell. 10-9 Benavidez.

Round 2: Low kick from Joe B. Right hand whiffs, as does Ali's counter. Straight right lands for Joe. Another good one lands clean. Bagautinov looks for the head kick, Joe B lands a couple of his own. One minute in. Nasty straight left from Benavidez. Body kick by Joe; Ali is looking to counter with flurries but not making clean contact. Benavidez looking for high kicks. Both whiff in the center. Two minutes in. 1-2 to the body by Joe B. Lead hook from "Puncher." Ali tries to tie up, can't do so but fires a three-piece combo. Two minutes to go.

Another lead hook from Bagautinov. Lead hook by Bagautinov, both whiff with combos. Joe B remains active with the kicks and cuffs him with a right hand. One minute to go. Ali latches onto a leg and cracks him with a pair of right hands before they separate. Ali counters a low kick with a right and suplexes the Alpha Male product. Benavidez pops right back up and pursues until the bell. 10-9 Benavidez.

Round 3: Straight right lands for Bagautinov. Benavidez tries a knee tap, nothing doing. Right hand comes up short. counter right by Benavidez. Counter right by Bagautinov. Joe B lands a body kick. One minute in. Body kick lands, Ali trips him down for a moment. Lead right from Joe, counter right from Ali. Ali looks for a head kick. Benavidez low kick connects. Two minutes in. Counter left lands for Bagautinov. Good knee by Benavidez inside. Both whiff in the center. Bagautinov looks for a head kick. Two mintues to go.

Bagautinov tries a wheel kick. Both whiff with power shots. Stiff jab by Joe. One minute to go. Counter right by Ali. Ali changes levels and takes Benavidez down. 135 lbs.: Jessica Eye vs. Julianna Pena

Round 1: Both women swinging big right off the bat. They tie up and Pena looks for an inside trip. Eye gets double unders and Pena pulls guard. Eye on top in half guard. Pena works her way up and presses Eye against the fence. Eye looking for a guillotine in response. One minute in. Eye drops the headlock and reverses position. Knee to the body from Eye. Two minutes in. More knees to the body by Eye. Pena lands some knees of her own and a short right hand, tripping her down. Eye rolls through for the back, can't get it and eats some hard shots from Pena. They trade knees to the body on the feet. Two minutes to go.

Eye pressing her against the fence, lands a short elbow. Pena hits a throw into side control. Elbows form Pena. One minute to go. Eye avoiding too much damage, turns into her. Pena grabs the front headlock and moves towards the back until the bell. 10-9 Pena.

Round 2: Pena comes out aggressive and they wing shots until Eye ties up. She's pressing Pena against the cage. They separate before long. Head kick from Pena, counter punches by Eye. Eye catches a body kick and Pena pulls half guard. One minute in. Pena looking for deep half guard, Eye defending well. Two minutes in. Side control, now turtle position. Eye slips in a hook, transitions to an arm triangle from half guard. Two minutes to go.

Eye working to extract her leg and pass to side control, can't do so before she loses the grip. Pena tries to work her way up, gives up turtle position again. One minute to go. Eye falls back for a choke and concedes top position, giving Pena side control. Illegal knee by Eye from the back. The ref both deducts a point and restart the fight on the feet, neither of which make any sense. They swing and Eye lands a pair of massive counters before the bell. 9-9.

Round 3: Pena coming out aggressive, but running into counters. She shoots in and completes an outside trip into full guard. One minute in. Eye controlling Pena's posture. Pena looks to pass to side control and Eye looks for a McGeary-style triangle. Pena pulls her head free and takes Eye's back. Two minutes in. Pena looks like she's got the choke locked in, but Eye manages to roll into it and survive. Back to half guard for Pena. Two minutes to go.

Pena working her way back into half guard, can't maintain the position but lands some hard shots. Eye looking for a triangle, Pena stacks her and then pulls free. One minute to go. Pena looking for a topside guillotine, but does not have her hands clasped. She cranks until the bell but cannot finish. 10-9 Pena.

Final result: Pena def. Eye by unanimous decision

145 lbs.: Daniel Hooker vs. Yair Rodriguez

Round 1: Oblique kick from Rodriguez. Low kick lands for him. Another side kick to the shin. One minute in. He whiffs on a low kick, then trips Hooker up with a combination. Flying switch kick nearly connects. Two minutes in. Wheel kick miss. Spinning back kick to the body. Hooker catches a low kick and shoots in. Rodriguez fishing for a guillotine against the cage. Nice hip toss by Rodriguez directly into mount. Two minutes to go.

Hooker scrambles his way to his feet and nearly takes Rodriguez's back. Hooker pressing him against the fence. Yair tries to spin him down, settles for some good knees to the body. One minute to go. Yair tries another throw, settles for some more  knees before separating. He tries a rolling thunder before the bell. 10-9 Rodriguez.

Round 2: Rodriguez tries a spinning back fist. Side kick and a nifty foot sweep. Hooker pops back up before Rodriguez can attack. Spinning elbow lands for "Pantera." Lead right by Hooker and they tie up. One minute in. Hooker pressing him against the fence. Rodriguez looks for a flying scissor takedown, shifts to a leg attack, and sweeps his way back to his feet. Low kick and high kick from Yair. Two minutes in. Hooker looks for a high kick, eats a somersault kick. Counter hook from Yair. Lead right hand, body kick both land. Hooker's exchanging with him but getting the worst of it. Two minutes to go.

Oblique kicks from Yair, then a side kick that nearly hits Hooker's face. Check hook by Rodriguez. Body kick lands for him. Hooker's looking to pressure, eats a right hand and glancing head kick. Rodriguez trips him down after catching a kick, nearly hits a throw near the cage. One minute to go. Hooker continuing to pressure and presses him against the fence. They separate and Yair slams home a spinning back kick to the body. Straight left by Hooker. Right hook lands for Rodriguez, then another body kick. Yair shoots in and completes a blast double on the fence before the bell. 10-9 Rodriguez.

Round 3: Wheel kick attempt from Rodriguez to start the round. He stops a takedown and they jockey in the clinch for a moment. Rodriguez takes a low blow, pausing the action. Right hook lands for Rodriguez, Hooker goes to the body in pursuit. Hooker stops a takedown, eats an uppercut and right hook. Yair tries a spinning backfist, Hooker latches on and Rodriguez rolls through for a leg. One minute in. Elbows by Rodriguez from his back. Hooker landing some short punches. Another elbow by Rodriguez splits Hooker open. Two minutes in. They swat at each otehr simultaneously. Rodriguez looking to attack the leg once more. Punches by Hooker, elbows from Rodriguez. Two minutes to go.

More nasty shots by Rodriguez from his back. Hooker landing some punches, but nothing game-changing. One minute to go. The referee stands them p, then pauses the fight to look at Hooker's busted brow. The dock lets him keep going and Rodriguez immediately cracks him with a pair of rights. Oblique kick from Rodriguez. Another right hook and side kick, Hooker swings away. Rodriguez fires a rolling thunder and looks of a leg before the bell. 10-9 Rodriguez.

Round 1: Knee to the body from Jouban, Tumenov takes him down and cracks him with a flurry on the way up. Tumenov catches another kick. Straight right from Tumenov. One minute in. Jouban with a flurry, avoids teh counters. Three-piece combo from the Russian. Straight right lands for him, head kick blocked. Jabs from Jouban, counter uppercut by Tumenov. Head kick from Jouban, Tumenov knocks him off balance. Leg kick from Jouban hits groin, pausing the action. Two minutes in. Jouban staying active with the jab. Counter flurry by Jouban, body kick by Tumenov. Head kick from Tumenov, who erupts with savage punches. A left hand takes Jouban's leg's out and the American crashes to the mat. Stunning knockout by Tumenov.

Round 1: Makhachev flicks out a front kick. Left hand lands for him, Martins backs him off with a counter left. Overhand left form Islam. Another looping left connects in a flurry. One minute in. 1-2-3 from Martins. Makhachev very aggressive early on. MASSIVE counter right hook from Martins flattens Makhachev! Makhachev raises his head up just in time to eat a hammerfist before the referee can step in.

Final result: Martins def. Makhachev by KO (punch)

115 lbs.: Angela Hill vs. Rose Namajunas

Round 1: Namajunas firing her jab early. Right hand lands for her. Body shot and combination by Namajunas and they slug it out. Rose takes her to the fence in the clinch, can't hit a head-and-arm throw. Good knee in the plum from Hill before they separate. One minute in. 1-2 by Thug Rose. She's doing good work with her jab. Low kick by Hill. Rose hits a lovely takedown behind a right hand, landing in half guard. Hill manages to regain full guard. Two minutes in. Rose working to pass, Hill fighting it off with a knee shield. Hill gives up her back and Rose latches onto the RNC as Hill stands. Both hooks in and that is deep. Hill stumbles unconsciously to the mat, thankfully in less violent fashion than Jingliang Li last week, and Rose has the technical submission win.

Final result: Namajunas def. Hill by technical submission (rear-naked choke)

Round 1: Northcutt fires off a hook kick to start. Trevino tries a superkick, falls, and Northcutt just annihilates him with strikes, slamming him to the mat and polishing him off with nasty shots.

Final result: Northcutt def. Trevino by TKO (strikes)

Round 1: Cariaso flicking out high kicks early. Pettis catches a body kick and sweeps him to the ground. Half guard for Pettis, Cariaso regains guard quickly. Cariaso briefly threatens a guillotine. One minute in. Cariaso tries an outside trip and Pettis hurls him down instead. Half guard for Sergio. Cariaso manages to regain full guard. Back to half, Sergio drops an elbow. Cariaso tries a high kick, eats a low kick. Both flurry. More good jabs by Pettis. Cariaso uppercuts from the inside. Pettis changes levels and puts Cariaso on his back once again. Cariaso threatens with a triangle, which allows Pettis to move to side control. Cariaso goes for a leg as Pettis looks for mount. One minute to go. Pettis standing as Cariaso works single-leg X guard. Pettis gets his leg free and stands over him, kicking his legs. He divies back into guard and drops some short shots until the bell. 10-9 Pettis.

Round 3: Low kick by Cariaso, Pettis catches it and takes top position. Pettis threatening a guillotine, nothing there. Cariaso makes it to his feet and an ill-advised guillotine attempt gives Cariaso top position. Sergio manages to stand and Cariaso falls to his back, sweeping Pettis quickly. One minute in. Cariaso on top in half guard, now full guard. Sergio whacks him with a nasty upkick and Cariaso goes back down into half guard. Pettis threatening a Kimura. He loses it and puts in a knee shield as Cariaso lands hammerfists. Short punches by "Kamikaze." Two minutes to go.

Pettis uses an underhook to regain full guard. Pettis throws his legs up, nothing there. One minute to go. Upkick lands for Sergio. Cariaso falls back for a heel hook. It looks nasty, but Sergio makes it to the bell. 10-9 Cariaso.

Round 1: Lewis flicks out a switch kick early. Lewis shoots in and drags Pesta to his knees. The Czech vet quickly pops up and grabs double underhooks, reversing position and stomping the bejeezus out of Lewis' feet. Pesta trips him down into side control. Lewis looking to control his posture and wrap up Pesta's arm. Knees to the body by Pesta, who snuffs out an attempt to buck free. Two minutes in. Lewis makes it to his feet and they scramble until Pesta plants him once again. Half guard, now side control for Pesta as Lewis looks for a Kimura from his back. Two minutes to go.

Lewis drops the arm and spins to his feet, giving up the seatbelt position. He manages to turn chest-to-chest, only to get tripped down to side control yet again. One minute to go. Lewis gives up his back on the way up and Pesta stays attached to him on the feet. Pesta gets the rear waistlock, then the bodylock as he presses Lewis against the cage. Lewis goes for an awkward throw but can't complete it. 10-9 Pesta.

Round 2: Hard straight right by Lewis after some extended circling. Pesta shoots in behind some wide swings and Lewis sprawls on it, landing some elbows. They jockey for position on the fence. One minute in. Another outside trip by Pesta, this time into half guard. Full guard now. Elbows by Pesta. Two minutes in. Lewis scooting some, but not making a major effort to stand. The ref obliges him and stands them up. Pesta ducks a pair of hard punches, changes levels, and takes Lewis down yet again. Two minutes to go.

Lewis trying to use the cage to stand, manages to do so. Pesta doing a good job of pressing Lewis against the fence. One minute to go. Lewis shoves him off and stuffs a takedown. Lewis storming after him as Pesta drives for a takedown. Pesta pulls guard and Lewis drops some hard shots until the bell. 10-9 Pesta.

Round 3: Pesta is clearly spent, and Lewis looks heavy on his feet as well. Pesta ducks under a right hand and shoots. Lewis manages to sprawl and Pesta pulls half guard. Lewis stands over him and blasts him with a riht hand. Lwis passes straight to side control and mount, dropping big shots on an exhausted Pesta until the referee steps in.
